On 16 October 2024, SHER Programme met with management of University ‘Haxhi Zeka’ in Peja (UHZ) to provide Rector Mr. Armand Krasniqi and his team an overview of the SHER programme interventions and activities.

The main goal of the SHER program, as stated by our Team Leader Mr. Aqim Emurli, is to support the development of a sustainable higher education and research sector in Kosovo that adheres to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), European Research Area (ERA), and relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

Collaboration on UHZ priorities was agreed upon by both parties and this will include supporting the statute’s revision, implementing the performance-based funding reform, supporting the 3^rd mission of the UHZ through the ongoing activities (annual conferences, academia-industry cooperation, etc.) and drafting regulation on measuring performance of the staff. In addition, it was discussed about other concrete opportunities that are possible within the content of SHER – which are in line with UHZ priorities and emerging needs.

Both parties agreed to put forward a Memorandum of Understanding that will include the areas of cooperation for the next three years.
