On 30 October 2024, SHER Programme Team Leader Mr. Aqim Emurli and Thematic Coordinator Mr. Nehat Dervishi visited the University ‘Kadri Zeka’ in Gjilan, where they were welcomed by Rector, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Artan Dërmaku, and vice-rectors.

During the meeting, Mr. Emurli outlined SHER Programme’s commitment to promoting sustainability in higher education and building research capacities that align with Kosovo Education Strategy 2022 – 2026.

The discussion identified specific areas where SHER could support UKZ, including strengthening institutional governance, revising the university statute, updating regulations and policies to meet modern standards, advancing gender equality, and building capacities to comply with the Administrative Instruction for Performance-Based Funding of public universities in Kosovo.

Moving forward, SHER and UKZ will develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to outline key areas of cooperation for the next three years, ensuring a sustainable impact on academic and research excellence at UKZ.
