On 8 April 2025 SHER successfully facilitated a capacity-building workshop focused on scientific research publication, specifically aimed at enhancing the skills of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIS) academic staff in publishing in academic journals such as Scopus and Web of Science.
A warm welcome was extended by Prof. Assoc. Dr. Islam Hasani, Dean of the FIS, and Mr. Nehat Dervishi, Thematic Coordinator of SHER. Both speakers emphasized the importance of such an initiative in strengthening research capacities and its role in advancing institutional development.
The workshop was facilitated by SHER expert, who outlined the objectives of the workshop and leading participants through a series of sessions. The first session offered a comprehensive overview of how Scopus and Web of Science function, highlighting their key features and capabilities. It also provided practical guidance on how to identify and select appropriate journals, with an emphasis on relevance to one’s research focus. The workshop further on focused on analyzing published articles by examining their methodology, structural components. In addition, it also covered essential topics such as the peer-review process and its importance in academic publishing, as well as key issues related to academic ethics and plagiarism.
As a follow up, SHER will continue supporting the FSI on practical work with individual ideas and provide consultations to help participants improve their success in scientific publications.
