On 6 June 2025, a inception workshop was held to support the process of developing the strategic plan of the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica (UIBM).

The workshop was officially opened with remarks from Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, Rector of UIBM, and Mr. Aqim Emurli, Team Leader of SHER. Rector Deva noted the importance of a well-crafted strategic plan in driving the university’s progress, while Mr. Emurli reaffirmed SHER’s commitment to providing ongoing support throughout the process.

As part of the workshop, SHER provided expert support on the methodology for developing the strategic plan, offering a framework focused on clear, actionable goals and a structured approach, as well as recommendations to help support UIBM’s long-term vision.

A key element of the workshop was the introduction of a SWOT analysis, providing an opportunity for participants to assess the university’s current strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The analysis covered four main areas: teaching, scientific research, community engagement, and institutional development, whereas participants were divided into four working groups, each responsible for exploring critical insights within their assigned area.

The workshop provided a comprehensive review of UIBM’s current position, both internal and external challenges, as well as the strategic opportunities for improvement.
