SHER Programme continues its support for the University of Prishtina (UP) in upgrading, consolidating, and modernizing its internal legal framework. Following the amendment of its Statute last year, UP is now working on aligning and harmonizing its key regulations, including the Regulation on the Appointment, Selection, Reselection, and Advancement of Academic Staff. This regulation is a crucial document that shapes academic career progression at UP, and its revision is essential for ensuring a transparent, merit-based, and standardized process.
On 13 February 2025, SHER Programme facilitated a one-day workshop dedicated to reviewing the ongoing comments and proposed amendments to the draft regulation. The workshop brought together UP leadership and the designated working group, thus fostering an open dialogue on the necessary improvements. SHER Programme expert provided substantive input on the legal and procedural aspects of the draft, ensuring alignment with UP’s Statute and best international practices. Discussions focused on strengthening transparency, fairness, and quality assurance in academic recruitment and advancement.
This workshop was part of ongoing support from SHER Programme, which remains committed to facilitating expert-driven reforms, fostering good governance, and enhancing institutional capacities within Kosovo’s higher education sector.
