SHER Programme works towards re-functionalizing of KRIS and supporting R&I sector in Kosovo

From 12 to 14 of February 2025, Mr. Martin Felix Gajdusek, Project Manager at Center for Social Innovation (ZSI), and SHER international expert, visited SHER. During these days, SHER team and Mr. Gajdusek met with key stakeholders regarding the re-functionalization of KRIS – Kosovo Research Information System. During his three-day visit, Mr. Gajdusek attended meetings that were productive and engaging, including colleagues from the Higher Education and Science Department in (MESTI), Vice Rector for Scientific Research, Projects and Innovation (University of Prishtina), Prof. Dr Avni Hajdari, as well as the SHER local expert Mr. Fatos Halilaj.

The meetings centered on the re-functionalization of KRIS, gathering insights from key stakeholders, and aligning the vision of KRIS from both MESTI and Higher Education Institutions perspectives. Moreover, how KRIS will support the Research and Innovation sector in Kosovo. Discussions covered the current needs, starting points, and existing limitations, as well as the next steps required for its full operationalization. Additionally, participants explored current and future expectations, identifying necessary enhancements to ensure KRIS meets its intended objectives effectively.

Also, the discussions focused on ensuring that a streamlined approach would be taken toward the full operationalization of KRIS, which involved outlining the next steps, the necessary processes and resources, as well as identifying the roles of the various stakeholders involved. SHER is committed to supporting next phase for the re-functionalization of KRIS – Kosovo Research Information System.
