On 28 February 2025, we supported a workshop on Innovation and Digital Transformation at University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja (UHZ). The event brought together key stakeholders from academia, local government, the private sector, and civil society to explore opportunities for strengthening technological integration and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The workshop provided a structured platform for knowledge exchange and strategic discussions on the challenges and opportunities in digital transformation. Through interactive working sessions, participants focused on enhancing institutional cooperation, identifying key barriers to technology adoption in education, governance, and business, and developing concrete action plans to foster innovation and strengthen digital capabilities. The workshop highlighted key challenges including barriers to digital transformation, lack of infrastructure, and skills gaps. There was also recognition of the need for stronger collaboration between universities, local governments, and the private sector.
The SHER Programme’s support for these initiatives reflects its broader mission to strengthen institutional capacities, enhance research and education quality, and foster university-industry collaboration. This workshop marks the first in a series of three, culminating in the Third Regional Economic Forum – Dukagjin (FERD) in September 2025, reinforcing SHER’s commitment to driving sustainable development and digital transformation in Kosovo’s higher education sector.
