SHER continues to provide support University ‘Isa Boletin’ in Mitrovica on the development of the Strategic Plan 2026-2030

23.07.2025

On 16 and 17 July 2025, SHER supported the University ‘Isa Boletin’ in Mitrovica (UIBM) in organizing a two-day strategic planning workshop to advance the development of its Strategic Plan 2026–2030.

The workshop opened with welcoming remarks from Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, Rector of UIBM, and Mr. Nehat Dervishi, Thematic Coordinator at SHER. Both highlighted the close and continuous collaboration between UIBM and SHER in strengthening institutional capacity and fostering long-term impact.

Facilitated by SHER’s local expert, Prof. Dr. Bujar Pira, the workshop engaged a wide range of stakeholders including academic and administrative staff, students, alumni, and representatives from the local business community. This approach ensured that diverse perspectives were considered throughout the planning process, reinforcing a shared sense of ownership over the future direction of the institution.

The two-day agenda was structured to move from strategic reflection to practical planning. Day 1 focused on reviewing and analyzing the results of the SWOT exercise conducted in previous sessions. Building on these insights, participants worked collaboratively to refine the university’s mission, vision, and core values. The session then moved toward identifying strategic goals and defining specific objectives, supported by the development of relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and impact. Day 2 shifted toward operational planning, with participants identifying concrete activities aligned with each objective, including timelines and responsible units for implementation.

SHER will continue to provide support to UIBM throughout the finalization and roll-out of the Strategic Plan 2026–2030, helping to ensure its effective implementation and long-term success.

SHER is funded by the Austrian Development Agency, co-financed by MESTI, and implemented by WUS Austria, ZSI and OeAD.
